The primary flight display (PFD) is a critical instrument used by pilots to monitor key flight parameters and maintain situational awareness during flight. In normal operation, the PFD displays aircraft attitude, altitude, speed, vertical velocity, etc. MFD is typically used to display navigational information. How does primary flight display work?
The unit combines the information traditionally displayed on several electromechanical instruments onto a single electronic display reducing pilot workload and enhancing Situational Awareness.
