How to become an aet?
AETs receive 24 weeks of blended on-the-job training at one of 26 Coast Guard air stations, in addition to in-class training at the Aviation Technical Training Center in Elizabeth City, NC. You will learn about aircraft systems, radar theory, aircraft communications, electrical theory, and troubleshooting. AET knowledge and skills include basic electronics facts, terminology, and principles, common maintenance practices, fundamentals of equipment maintenance, and aircraft fundamentals. There are no AET eligibility requirements.
