U. S. AIR FORCE THUNDERBIRDS The Thunderbirds perform for people all around the world to display the pride, precision and professionalism the U. S. Air Force represents. Through air shows and flyovers, they aim to excite and inspire. Sixty-four years of team history can be found at the Thunderbirds museum, located inside the Thunderbirds hangar on Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Its main exhibit is a Thunderbirds aircraft static display, and visitors can get a glimpse of this display 24 hours a day, seven days a week.The Thunderbirds consist of active duty pilots who are part of the U. S. Air Force’s combat force. If they are called upon, the Thunderbirds’ aircraft can be made combat-ready in 72 hours or less.The USAF Air Demonstration Squadron is the air demonstration squadron of the United States Air Force. The Thunderbirds, as they are popularly known, are assigned to the 57th Wing, and are based at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
