Is a Cessna 421 hard to fly?
But I think the Cessna 421 is a fairly easy plane to fly. It flies beautifully, is very smooth, fairly quiet for the passengers, and is a lot of fun. It’s amazing that these planes can be so old, yet with a few improvements, can still be safe and fun all these years later. The Cessna 172 has a proven safety record and is easy to operate, making it the perfect choice for student pilots. Its stability, especially during landings, makes it a favorite for flight schools around the world.
What are the disadvantages of a Cessna 402?
You can get into a lot more trouble running those engines wrong then you can the straight TSIO. But they do take a lot of maintenance. They’re getting old, for airplanes in their class. They’re great airplanes and a joy to fly, but as with anything they get more expensive the older they get, and the 402 is not young. But a Skymaster is a lot of airplane for the money. Besides current fuel prices and future uncertainties, other factors depressing prices are that the 337 has a reputation for being a maintenance hog-one that’s not entirely deserved-and they aren’t all that fast as like-powered twins go.
