The F-22 is more stealthy than the F-117 Nighthawk. When the F-117 debuted, it was a revolutionary aircraft. It doesn’t matter how fast you’re going as long as the enemy can’t see you. It was a first-generation stealth bomber, designed to minimise all possibility of detection. Supersonic aircraft produce shock waves and suffer from surface heating from air friction. Both of these compromise its stealth properties. It was never intended to fly at supersonic speeds, and was not capable of doing so.
