Why did Fokker stop making planes?

The Fokker’s fortunes declined over the course of the late 20th century. On 15 March 1996, Fokker went bankrupt and aircraft production came to a definite end with its operations sold to competitors. The company left behind many aircraft designs that are still in operation today. During World War II, Fokker faced severe challenges. Its factories in the Netherlands were taken over by the Germans, and production was forcibly redirected to serve German military needs. Some facilities were damaged by bombings during the war. After the war, Fokker struggled to recover from these setbacks.
