F-100s flew over 360,000 combat missions in Southeast Asia between 1964-1971, with 186 lost to enemy anti-aircraft, none in air-to-air combat, seven to enemy ground forces, and 45 to operational accidents. F-100s of various models were lost over Vietnam. Several F-100As were rebuilt into RF-100A aerial reconnaissance aircraft.Among fixedwing aircraft, more F-4 Phantoms were lost than any other type in service with any nation. In total, the United States military lost in Vietnam almost 10,000 aircraft and helicopters.
