How old is the GE90 engine?
The ge90 engine was launched in 1990 to provide a large turbofan engine for the boeing 777, a wide-body, long-range, twin-engine jet airliner. Widebody jets (like the 777/777x) are designed for long-haul, so they need massive engines. Narrowbody jets (like the 737) don’t have the ground clearance to fit such engines.
