What engine is in the ARJ21?
COMAC launched the ARJ21 program in 2002 and selected CF34-10A engine to power the aircraft in the same year. The ARJ21 manufacturer, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, LTD (COMAC), deemed the aircraft’s hour-long first flight as highly successful, reaching altitudes of 9,000 feet. GE Aviation provides the complete propulsion system for the ARJ21, including two fuselage-mounted CF34-10A engines.
How many ARJ21s have been produced?
The ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module shows that COMAC has so far built 146 ARJ21-700s. One aircraft, msn 101, has been stored on display. The type is in service with eleven operators in China (excluding COMAC itself) and TransNusa in Indonesia. Original baseline variant ARJ21-700 seats 78-90 passengers with standard and long-range versions. Includes a freighter version ARJ21-700F; corporate large business jet, CBJ or ARJ21-700B; medical emergency service version, ARJ21 MES; and stretched version for 115 passengers, ARJ21-900.ARJ21 Aircraft The ARJ-21 (Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century) is the first narrow body (single aisle) regional jet aircraft developed by COMAC.
