What is Sky Guard?
Sky guard family A modular, lightweight, short-range air defense system (SHORAD) designed for rapid acquisition and destruction of aircraft and missiles, also capable of fulfilling a Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) role. The Skyguard is a Swiss-made fire-control radar that can direct up to four air defense gun mounts and missile launchers, especially the Oerlikon 35-mm air defense gun and Sparrow or Aspide air defense missiles (see separate database entries). It succeeded the Fledermaus system in production.
