What is the life of a jet engine?

Aircraft engines do not last the entire life of the aircraft. Over the course of the plane’s life, the engine is generally rebuilt two to three times before being removed from service. This happens around 12,000 flight cycles for the first rebuild, then 8,000 for the second and only 4,000 before the final rebuild. Wide-body Aircraft (e. Boeing 747, 777, Airbus A330) Typically have a longer lifespan, often exceeding 25-30 years. Can accumulate over 100,000 flight hours or 20,000-30,000 flight cycles.
