How many DC-10s are still flying?

The majority of the world’s operational DC-10s were removed from service in 2024 as the US Air Force retired its remaining KC-10 Extenders. Today two ex-Dutch Extenders are still flying in commercial service while four DC-10s battle wildfires, one is used as a freighter, and one is used as a flying hospital. Four air tankers are currently in operation, all DC-10-30 aircraft, with the call-signs Tanker 910, 911, 912 and 914. The original Tanker 910, a DC-10-10, was retired in 2014.
