The two A321ceo variants are equipped with CFM56-5B3/3 engines and IAE V2533-A5 engines, resulting in the A321-211 and A321-232 variants respectively (see table, page 28). Power on the A320 was to be supplied by two CFM56-5-A1s rated at 111 kN (25,000 pounds-force). Our A320 series aircraft use engines from two different engine manufacturers. The older aircraft have the CFM56-5B engines, while the newer A321 aircraft use IAE V2500-A5 engines, which consume less fuel. The Airbus A321NEO, with its new engines, generate less noise and carbon emissions while being more fuel efficient versus previous-generation aircraft. The aircraft can fly non-stop to long-haul destinations of up to 8 hours flight time.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, the A321neo was Delta’s most fuel-efficient aircraft, with 20 percent better fuel efficiency over Delta’s A321ceos (A321-200s). The A321neo held 194 seats: 20 domestic First Class, 42 Comfort+ and 132 Main Cabin. Delta’s first A321neo was delivered on March 23, 2022. There are currently 80 A321neos in service.
