The cfm56 engine is the result of a 50/50 partnership between safran aircraft engines and ge aviation called cfm international. Cfm is the world’s largest commercial aircraft engine manufacturer, with a 39% market share as of 2020. It has delivered more than 37,500 of its engines to more than 570 operators.As per the Annual Strategy Dossier – 2021, the top four global commercial aircraft turbofan engine manufacturers are Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation and Safran. GE and Safran of France have a joint venture called CFM International.
