Is Spruce Goose still in Long Beach?

LONG BEACH, 1980s The Spruce Goose was first on public display in Long Beach around 1980, after its one brief flight in 1947, and remained in a geodesic dome next to the Queen Mary until 1993 when it was moved to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in Oregon. From 1947 until his death in 1976, he kept the Spruce Goose prototype ready for flight in an enormous, climate-controlled hangar at a cost of $1 million per year. Today, the Spruce Goose is housed at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.When Disney acquired the Wrather Corporation in 1988, they inherited the Spruce Goose’s lease from the Aero Club. Four years later, the Aero Club sold the aircraft to the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.
